چکیده
Abstract The most widely-used representation of the compressible, isotropic, neo-Hookean hyperelastic model is considered in this paper. version under investigation that which implemented commercial finite element software ABAQUS, ANSYS and COMSOL. Transverse stretch solutions are obtained for following homogeneous deformations: uniaxial loading, equibiaxial loading plane stress, strain. ground-state Poisson’s ratio used to parameterize constitutive model, stress computed numerically physically permitted range its values. Despite broad application a number engineering problems, physical limitations particularly small moderate regimes, not explored. In work, we describe analyze results make some critical observations, underlining model’s advantages limitations. For example, snap-back feature transverse identified compression, undesirable behavior unless validated by experimental data. domain non-unique solution determined terms state stress. analyses perform essential enable understanding characteristics standard, addition, our provide framework parameter-fitting procedure needed characterize isotropic

Analysis of Intrinsic Stability Criteria for Isotropic Third-Order Green Elastic and Compressible Neo-Hookean Solids
Internal stability of isotropic nonlinear elastic materials under homogeneous deformation is studied. Results provide new insight into various intrinsic stability measures, first proposed elsewhere, for generic nonlinear elastic solids. Three intrinsic stability criteria involving three different tangent elastic stiffness matrices are considered, corresponding to respective increments in strain...
متن کاملOnset of Cavitation in Compressible, Isotropic, Hyperelastic Solids
In this work, we derive a closed-form criterion for the onset of cavitation in compressible, isotropic, hyperelastic solids subjected to non-symmetric loading conditions. The criterion is based on the solution of a boundary value problem where a hyperelastic solid, which is infinite in extent and contains a single vacuous inhomogeneity, is subjected to uniform displacement boundary conditions. ...

Finite Amplitude Vibrations of a Neo-hookean
The problem of the finite amplitude, horizontal oscillatory motion of a mass attached to a neo-Hookean rubber spring and supported by a fixed, ideally smooth and rigid horizontal surface is solved exactly in terms of the Heuman lambda and beta functions. Therefore, the period of the oscillations may be computed from tables of values of the complete lambda function. It is proved that the ratio o...
متن کاملSupplement for “ Stable Neo - Hookean Flesh Simulation ”
The behavior of the three Neo-Hookean energies is very similar, although the slightly superior volume preservation of our model starts to be seen in the ν = 0.3 row. The “fixed” co-rotational model preserves volume, but unnatural crinkling artifacts start to appear even at small Poisson’s ratios, e.g. ν = 0.2. The original co-rotational model yields good results at ν = 0.2, but quickly begins t...
